Inspired by the memory of his father, UCLA Pediatric cardiologist Dr. Juan Alejos is dedicated to providing advanced medical care to children with heart disease in Lima, Peru. Since 1995 UCLA physicians have volunteered their extensive experience providing treatment for many children. Their primary goal is to instruct Peruvian medical personnel in the care of children with complex congenital heart disease at The Instituto de Salud del Nino children's hospital in Peru.
